This morning I was admiring some silver dollars my grandfather gave me a couple years ago, when my eye alighted upon this Peace Dollar. I thought it must be a scratch, but closer examination revealed instead that it was a die crack. As usual, my photos are less than perfect, but you should be able to see a crack running from the bottom of the D in GOD through the trunk of Liberty's neck all the way through the top of the T in Trust. I found a website called vamworld.com that has a variety listed as 1922-P VAM-2BB which appears to be the same: http://www.vamworld.com/1922-P+VAM-2BB.

Does this look like the same variety? Any thoughts on value?

1st photo appears to show it starts at rim thru IN & moves right. either a crack or heavy die scratch. now check for MM & high relief, find grade with PCGSphotogradeonline. Redbook puts "defective die" error at north of $900. worth what a buyer will pay :dontknow:

Thanks for the input. Definitely 1922-P and pretty sure it's low relief. I took a gander at photograde and my untrained eye believes it could grade MS-60. As for the value, you're absolutely right- it's whatever a buyer is willing to pay- and I doubt it's very much since many 1922 Peace Dollars were preserved in high grades. Here are overall pictures of obverse and reverse ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1483917846.713427.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1483917878.569530.jpg
