Surprised when dumping...

Ever since TD Bank's done away with the Penny Arcades, dumping vast amount of coins was challenging. Not only that, the reject finds have been nil. I finally found another bank with a coin counter but it doesn't have a reject chute.

So doing my normal dumping and not expecting anything, this was what was in the spinning wheel...

I'll take it!

Silver dollars are hard to come by. Even with the hole, it's a nice find. Congrats!

I had found one Peace dollar awhile back without a hole! Quite a rarity these days especially when most teller covet any big dollars when they get them, yes even IKES lol

Forgot to mention it's a 1923-S Peace dollar. Wondered who in their right mind would drilled a hole onto a heavy coin and wears it. If only the coin could talk...

Couple of months ago I went to a bank to cash my paycheck. I do not have an account with them, but they cash my checks because my company banks there.
Teller had a Morgan dollar sitting on the coin tray. I asked her if I could buy it. She said no. Apparently she was going to keep it.
She said a lady had brought it in. It was a 1902, and looked like it was in good shape.

Ah well. Would have been nice.
