If you can get a buck for 99 of them, you're doing well.

In the long long run they might be worth something. I was lucky enough back then to get half box to a full box of each of the four var and the P & D., all in BU MINT condition when they first come out.

Alright, I'll hang on to them, and check for errors. Thank you all!

In my experience 2009 cents are harder to find in circulation than wheat cents, so might as well hold on to them.

Geez, I haven't been on this forum for a while...

You can always find people willing to pay more than face value for a clean coin. even a BU 2008 and a BU 2010. But will the 2009 be worth more than a penny in general? No. never. there's a LOT of pennies out there. PLus, your numbers are wrong. "With under 200 mill. minted" the LOg Cabin 2009 had 284 million P and 350 million D coins minted alone. The others also had a lot minted. Overall, over 2 BILLION minted.

The nickels had only 86 million minted, (versus 2 billion pennies) and that compared to over 600 million the year before and the lowest since 1955. Dimes and quarters also lower than in years. NOne will have much value though. Even the aforementioned 1955 nickel, which had a small mintage, I have found over 100 in circulation the last few years.

Oh - I saved two rolls of each penny. Brand new, in the original wrappers. My son was born in 2009, so I will give them to him some day.

Sorry about that error, got my numbers wrong. I'm surprised, I average 5-10 2009 nickels per box.. I'll have to start hanging on to them.
