:occasion14: I was on the road doing a dump when I had to take a wicked p**s. I saw a TD bank & knew the lobby was open to 5PM. It was about 4:50 so I stopped. After I finished my biological break, I went to the tellers & asked my usual question about half dollars. They had $100 (10 cwr). There was mixed silver thru the rolls but the totals was 69 silver halves but what silver halves they were!
51 90%
7 Barbers (1/1900, 1/1907,2/1907"D", 1/1908"O", 1/1909"O' & 1/1912"S'
5 Walkers (1/39"D", 2/44, 1/44"S" & 1/45)
9 AU Bens (1 each 1955 -1963 all Philadelphia - they actually look BU but because I found them in a roll, I call them AU)
9 Bens (1/51, 1/53"D", 1/54"S", 1/61"D", 1/62, 1/62"D" & 3/63"D")
16 Kennedy (14/64 of which 10 were gold plated & 2/64"D")
5 Silver (Cameo) Proofs (1/94"S", 3/97"S" & 1/2001"S")

18 40%
3/65 (WT 2/11.4 grams & 1/11.5 grams)
1/66wFG
3/67
3/68
4/69
2/70"D"
2/1776-1976 Bicentennials

The way this worked out, I wonder if this was someone who passed away collection whose heirs just cashed them in for currency or this was a stolen collection? What do you folks think? :icon_scratch: No matter what it was, it was a great score.

It's still out there

HH & Happy Halloween to All

That is amazing! I have dreams about finding that many Barbers at once.

So cool, what a mix to find! The modern silvers are a great score and the '55 Ben is a rarity in the wild. It's raining Barbers!

Great score!!! Incredible day. Did the tellers say the person who deposited those brought in anything else? Might be a good reason for another bathroom break

Tell me you went back and asked for rolls of other denominations dropped off by the same person! Or just rolls.

I would say a collection from a deceased collector, and most likely other demon rolls were included.

Sweet cull of silver. I can only presume that seeing that many barbers caused you to overlook the haircut reference.

:laughing9: You are absolutely correct. I was so excited & stunned seeing so many barbers, any thought of a haircut reference in the thread title went totally out from my mind. In the past, the edit button only worked in the message portion of a thread not the title. I sent a email to the moderators asking if they could change the title of the thread to " No Shave But A Great Haircut" today so I'll see how that works out. In fact, I needed all of them for my collection as I had only found 2 barbers previously (either crh or teller).

I'm still in a state of disbelief.

:unhappysmiley: I went back there the following week & they told me that the person only dropped off half dollar rolls & not any other denominations. Oh well (sigh), you can't win them all :sad11:

Better to have asked and got NONE, rather than have not asked and then wondered for the rest of the year.
