I found a blank dime way back in the 60's. Still have it, look like a un-punched washer, real funny looking but it's the same size as a regular dime.

I have only found a few and they were from old unopened bags. They however, seem to pretty common if you go to buy any, especially for cents.

Ive found cents & nicks.
Father in law has an Ike blank. He got it from a vegas casino in the early 80s who thought it was counterfeit. He was a Secret Service agent for 25years. Ike blanks are pretty scarce.

Yeah, the cents don't sell for big bucks but they can be found in rolls!

I found a half blank mixed in a box of solid '95-P Kennedy's. Most people will never know the date of their blank.

blank Maryland quarter

Last night, I found my second blank cent planchet from a box that was sent to me from Tennessee (shoutout to TNHillGuy for the box!). This got me wondering...has anyone else ever found a blank nickel, dime, quarter, or any other type of planchet?

I found an entire box of new Maryland quarters. Opened a few rolls to see if any were perfect. Found one roll that looked odd on one coin, so I opened that roll. Between all the Maryland quarters was one blank planchet quarter. Of course I still have it.

I have almost a dozen cent blanks, but only ONE that is perfect on one side and blank on the other. Most are blank on both sides. This one is fresh, very well defined on one side, and the other side is as smooth as can be. Not punched. I figure it stuck to the penny before it, and therefore that one was struck twice on one side, but this one was not struck at all on that side. I have all those blank planchets too.

It took me a second to realize "half blank" means just what it says: blank Half-Dollar planchet. I too first thought "how could only half of it be blank?".

Reminds me of a conversation I had with my 10yo who is learning about US states - including abbreviations. I told her over and over that I wanted to know the abbreviation for Oklahoma. She acknowledged that I wanted to know it, but then didn't tell me what it was! Arghh.
