There is only one local bank in our area that we have located that will sell us bags.
We can get them sporadically. Last week we scored a $1000 bag of quarters and $1000 bag if dimes.
Quarters were a skunk. we got a few casino tokens, Canadian quarters and and assortment of foreign coins.
The $1000 dime bag produce 6 silver Rosies and one Merc.

When I dumped the quarters it came to $995 so we took a loss on them.

Keep on Searching

Firmly believe searching a BAG is the way to go in order to find a FULL COLLECTION dump. Sooner or later it will happen, maybe this year 2018. Out of all the small banks in my area, only one will sell me a bag, and my scores are about like yours, 3-9 silvers. My day is coming soon I hope.

I assume that you tested the 1968 Canadian Qtr to see if it was 50% silver.

For anyone not aware, the 1968 Canadian quarter was 50% silver, 50% copper for part of the year and pure nickel (nearly pure anyway) for the rest of the year. Because high grade nickel alloy sticks to a magnet, the test is easy. If the 1968 coin sticks to a magnet, it is pure nickel. If it doesn't, it is half silver.

Obviously, the 50% silver is a keeper, but I also keep all of the all-nickel Canadians that I find.

Now all I have to do is dig up something worth $1000 so I can afford to go to the bank and get a $1000 worth of quarters.

I rarely go out of my way to go to a bank. This bank is on my way to my parent. I bring them lunch every Wednesday, I call the bank before I leave to see if they have any bags in the vault.
