What is your favorite single coin found while CRHing, not best box or best roll but the coin that you like the best and will probably keep?

Mine is a 1962 CAMEO proof Franklin half dollar. Finding Proof Franklins is rare to begin with but a Cameo is very rare. As a coin collector I know that there are very few cameo Franklins found and they bring big money.
When this coin was cut out of the proof set it must have been a beauty! This would have been a $70 coin at least. it is still in pretty good shape for having been dumped in a coin machine somewhere.
I keep it on the shelf above my desk with my camera collection (I am a former US Navy Photographer) along with my 1917 Mercury (AU+) and 1915 Canadian Dime (XF+).

I still shake every time I think about finding it and smile every time I look at it!

Did I mention that even getting one in a proof set from a dealer is rare?

Your real find that you will cherish the rest of your life, is the BRONZE STAR from the service I presume? Congrats on both the coins and the MEDAL.

I cannot do stolen valor, I was US Navy, and only got the gdunk medal and good conduct medal (72-76)

The Bronze Star was my Dad's, USMC on Iwo Jima, Saipan, Tinian and Roi Namur. He won the Bronze Star on Saipan! I keep it there to remind me every day of him.

I did a website for he and his men HQ224USMC Honoring the men of the HQ Company lots of pictures from Parris Island and the different battles. Worth checking out.

Here's my favorite CRH find. I also have a 1925 Stone Mountain that I found in Georgia and an 1830 Bust half that I'm fond of.

I still think this is one of the coolest finds I've seen in this forum

I can't remember and single favorite but I once stopped at a Chinese bank (in SoCA) and the teller finally understood what I wanted when I showed her an IKE dollar. (she did not understand BIG dollar no matter how loud I said it) She reached under her counter and pulled out a baggy of big coins. I said yes and bought all. I almost ran back to my car to open and look closer. (its been a few years) There were between 20 and 25 big coins. A few IKES but mostly Morgans, Peace and I think three Standing Liberty silver rounds. ALL AT $1.00 EACH.

Now, sorry for changing the topic. We missed each other by a couple of years. I was in the Navy from 68 to 72 and the last couple of years I was my ships photographer. (USS Camden AOE2) I did 4 tours in Viet Nam and we even did Korea for some show of force. After I got out of the fleet I was a SeaBee photographer for about 4 years. What ship were you on?

I was in the Navy also from 1968 - 1972. I was on the DD 705 USS Compton a training ship for the reserves. I also did a tour in Danang in 1970.

I was a Navy Photographer from '72-'76, 18 months in Pensacola (tough duty) and then the USS Independence CV-62

Best years of my life! They stopped sending people to Nam just as I got out of A school. wish I had gone... happy that I did not

Following that thought, my favorites were 9 silver dollars (7 Morgans and 2 Peace) out of 23 picked up from an oblivious teller, and a BU roll of 1963 Franklins that were "mint fresh" blast white.

My most recent of BEST FINES, was just last year Jan 2017, when I had a DREAM BOX of silver dimes from a bank rolled box, consisted of 98-silvers (65-mercs, 33-Rosies). The thrill lasted for weeks for me.
