Could this Kennedy be an early strike on a new set of dies?

Going through 2 boxes of halves, no silver yet, but this 1971 looks interesting, the fields are almost mirror and the head has frost on it. There is no mint mark. I was wondering if this could be an early strike on a set of dies?

I'm thinking it's been plated. What's the edge look like?

The edge looks like normal, shows the sandwiching very nicely. It is not sharp like a proof, more like a unc from a mint set. The copper stands right out. I have been a coin collector for about 35 years and have seem many plated or polished coins and this is not plated.
It is impared with many contact marks but very little wear

I will check my mint sets to compare, What I like is the sort of proof-like surfaces with the cameo, it looks more proof-like in the picture than in person but it is very pretty and interesting. It replaced the 71 I have in my CRH Dansco album! I also have found a 1995 S proof in the same box, still have 2/3's of it to go through and 1 more box - no enders in either box.
