I presume you mean a half-dollar album. I prefer the Dansco series as their other denominations are all complete. If I remember right some of the Whitman albums do not cover some of the other modern series in their entirety. The Dansco album has plenty of room for the post 2001 releases (at least the P&D no S album does).
Definitely go with an album with which you can see both sides of the coins. The $15 or so more dollars is definitely worth it - as opposed to the old coin folders.
They both have all of the holes for the dates and mintmarks, but Dansco is definitely better. You are able to look at the obverse and reverse without having to remove the coin, and if you happen to find a better coin to replace the one currently filling the hole, you will have to push it out by pushing on the back. Do it enough times and you could put a hole in it. Dansco is more expensive but classier, and swapping out a coin is easy, just slide the clear plastic strip out, remove the old coin, put in the better one, and slide the plastic back in. That is the album I have for my Kennedys.
If you mean the same type of album I would think they are pretty equal when it comes to the higher quality albums. Most cheaper folders I think are made by Whitman. If you can afford it get the albums that allow you to see the fronts and backs as mentioned by others here. But be warned, some of the nicer albums have spots for nearly unique coins which may be hard to fill, in other words I think they include slots for all of the different minted types where the folders sometimes skip them.
