Picked up a box of halves yesterday to kick off the new year, it was a pretty good one.

The box had two enders showing, and gave up five 90%ers and one 40%er:

1940
1941S
1943
1945
1947D
1969D

Lovin' those beautiful ladies, what a great way to kick off 2019!

Picked up two boxes of halves yesterday, both of which gave up silver.

First box gave up 14 keepers, five 90%ers and nine 40%ers:

1941 Walker
1945 Walker
1963D Ben
1964 x 2
1965
1967 x 4
1968D x 2
1969D x 2

Second box gave up just one lone 40%er: 1966.

Dropped my phone and busted it up good a couple weeks ago, so I couldn't get any pics.

Been so busy with work and just recently my little guy downloading a virus onto my home PC, so I had to deal with a lot of stuff before I could put together a final tally.

This has not been that good of a year for me. I had a lot of very long skunk streaks in both halves and dimes. My dime skunk streak was at 50+ boxes before I lost count.

The silver trickled in, and there was only one or two really good highlights throughout the whole year. Still added to the stack though, so it's all good.

There were quite a few weeks -- nine to be exact -- that I didn't hunt at all, and that certainly had an impact on my finds for the year. I lost track of how many boxes of dimes I picked up because of all the skunks, it made me not care very much about tracking anything at all really. I did manage to keep track of halves though. I picked up a total of 177 boxes of halves + $8,325 in CWR and loose halves. I did one single box of nickels and a few hundred in quarters too, which gave up nothing. Despite not hunting for nearly two months, I only did ten less boxes of halves than the previous year.

I searched through $617 worth of Ikes this year, my highest amount ever. Someone was ordering bags of Ikes and dumping them on a bank that I usually pick up loose halves at, luckily for me they missed a silver Ike. That was one of the few highlights for me this year.

Anyway...

Total silver found in 2019: 73.32 ozt.

Impressed by your patience with the dimes! 50+ skunk streak when I gave up on dimes after only 14.

Did you keep track of # of 40%ers and 90%ers to get that total weight of silver?

Congrats on that silver Ike - that one is hard to find in the wild.

Thanks!

I did not keep track of the numbers of 40%ers and 90%ers, I have several plastic coffee containers that I throw 40%ers, 90%ers, and dimes in when culled.

I just throw them in their respective containers and then weigh it all out at the end. I store my stack in canvas bags, aside from anything deemed nice enough to be separated out, so I just pour the containers into the canvas bags at the end of each year.

I agree! I was just so totally blind-sided by that when I pulled the change from my pocket I couldn't believe it at first.

Thanks, man. Good luck to you as well!
