Hi Everyone, wanted to check in and share a few 100+ year old SILVER finds that I had this week.

My first one came from one of my half dollar boxes.

This rim was so thin and slick, if I wasn't paying attention I might've even missed it!

A 1903 Barber Half, our fourth one after around five years of hunting! There were four more 40% in the box as well, a nice take.

I saved the second when I was at my dump bank. They have one of the older conveyor belt-fed machines that I've found consistently reject silver if it's in the mix.

I walked in with my big canvas bag of halves and the older woman ahead of me was just finishing up her deposit. She grabbed a handful of clinky-clunky non modern-US CuNi coins and threw them back in to see if the machine would take it. I heard them jingle back down into the reject chute...

While she was trying to peel the Canadian coins off of the magnet on the machine, I picked up my coin bag to try to give her the hint I was waiting, just to put a little pressure on her to maybe walk away without rechecking the chute.

Whelp, it worked. I reached in while I was conducting my deposit and pulled out a small handful...

Three silvers in the mix, including a 1910A German 1 Mark piece (90% silver) with some really neat toning! How this lady ended up with it, who knows... :dontknow:

Also pulled a dateless Standing Liberty quarter and a silver Roosie

The German Mark is 109 years old and the Barber half is 116 years old! Some unusual finds this week for sure!

On a semi-related note, I know I haven't been updating my CRH log, but I can at least say that our half dollar box hunting results have been excellent so far this year! No huge dream boxes but consistent, steady, above-average yields. I've found a bunch of NIFC 40% proofs and even a modern 90% silver commemorative. I'm hoping they keep producing for the rest of the year (big hope!) because if they do, we'll likely post our best year ever!

We also passed the $1,000,000 searched mark sometime last month. That's a lot of heavy lifting! Happy hunting everyone, good luck!

I can't even remember how many years back I saw or pulled from the wild a SLQ, nice catch even from a reject chute it still counts.
