CRH finds you’ve had slabbed

I’ve hunted 2.6 million coins and of all those coins I found 1 that I actually sent off to be slabbed. It’s my ‘76-D struck through and retained staple Kennedy half. Want to start a thread for others to post CRH finds that have been slabbed. Thanks for playing. I don’t hear of it too often so I’m interested to see what pops up.

Damaged 1955 doubled die cent. It was certified genuine.

I found a lot of 1972 DDO Lincolns primarily type 3, 6, and 8's. Had about 10 of each slabbed. Four Lincoln errors of various types, And finally, three 2019 Lowell W quarters, best one was MS-66 and one of the San Antonio Mission quarters is now being graded.

I haven't found anything worthy of getting professionally graded, but I don't think I would have it done even if I did...unless I intended to sell, in which case I definitely would.

On 11/5/89 I found an AU 1956-D Lincoln cent during one of my casino hunting excursions. Back then I put any wheatie into a 2x2 that was XF or better. While examining it I noticed what looked like a faint extra D mintmark separate and below the primary D. This was before the Cherrypicker's Guide existed, so all I had to go by was "The RPM Book" (1983) and I was stoked to find it listed.

Then I bought my first Cherrypicker's Guide in 1992 and when I saw that it was fairly rare and had value I decided to get it slabbed. But back then the big companies didn't attribute the Guide's FS numbers, so I waited. Then in 1996 a smaller TPGS called PCI offered FS numbers with their slabs, and I sent it off. The whole transaction was around $15 and it came back with an AU grade and FS# attribution.

I sold it several years ago but it remains the only found coin I've had slabbed.

I found this same coin in one of 7 solid wheat cent rolls I picked up at a bank around 1999 or so. It’s a very nice RPM... really easy to see the extra MM. I
sold it a few yrs later on eBay.
