Here is an example of the box to box variability so common in this crazy hobby. I have a standing order for two boxes per week from my local bank. This week, Box 1 produced one 90% and twenty 40% halves. And box 2? A skunk. Still happy with the results.

Wouldn't you love to have been at that bank when the 21 silver halves were dropped in the coin machine and you ought the entire bag. Possibly hundreds. Congrats anyway you can get them.

Wish someone would sell me bags. These coins came from one of two Brinks boxes.

Do you return the clad coins back to the bank?

Yup! What's it take to get a bank to sell bags?!

First step is to ASK if they sell bags off their coin machine. Most banks don't, of those that DO some of their own branches don't.
Just reassure them that you understand the risk of a bag being SHORT on the count.

That one box yielded more than the total of all of the boxes I have done this year so far. Nice one mega!

No, they are returned to one of two credit unions of mine at several branches to minimize bag changes for the tellers.

Tried that. Recently, the head teller complained about having so many bags waiting for their courier to pick up that it was difficult to walk around them. "I can help you with that" was my response and she just chuckled.

I hope things turn around for you soon. You are not searching Dunbar rolls, are you? (got one 40%er in 18 boxes of those awful things).
