Well, they didn't LIE to you, it was a BOX OF HALVES. Be happy with what you got, just never know what might be in CWR.

On the phone, they said they had a box. But when I got there, what they gave me was this:

A mix of customer- and a few different machine-wrapped rolls. Some of the CWR were rewrapped machine rolls.
But, I did spy three enders from the MWR:

All of the CWR were skunks, as well as the MWR from Brinks. But out of the other $180 in MWR, I scored thirteen 40%ers!
1965
1966
1967 x 5
1968D x 3
1969D x 3

Man, I wish I would've gotten a full box of those MWR that gave up the 40%ers! Probably would've been a really good one.

nice. i would not have hesitated diving into a box such as that.

Its true that you "just never know what might be in CWR". But sometimes, a chatty teller might give you a hint. At one bank that occasionally orders me boxes, they have CWRs that are dumps from a CRHer. I suspected this before a teller spilled the beans because the CWRs there never had silver and because the bank always seemed to have such an unusually large supply (hundreds of rolls) of CWRs. The teller informed me that they always have lots of rolls because "a customer pulls out the silver from boxes and then returns these rolls..." OK, thanks for telling me - I don't want any more of those!

Picked up a box of halves + $280 in MWR of halves + $30 in CWR of halves yesterday.
Skunked on the box of halves.
The $280 in MWR gave up four 90%ers...
Three Walkers:
1941
1942
1944S
And a Ben: 1954D.
The $30 in CWR of halves gave up six 40%ers: 1967 x 6.
And as things fell apart
Nobody paid much attention

Nice!
I haven't seen a Walker for 10 weeks nor any 90%er of any kind in 6 weeks (except for a silver quarter in the reject tray when dumping skunk boxes...).

Picked up a box of dimes + $160 in MWR of halves yesterday on my lunch break, skunked on the halves.
The box of dimes gave up two Roosies:
1954
1957
Really glad to have dime boxes that produce again.

A rare find, especially from a teller tray. Congrats. I'll bet that white rim showed up like a diamond in the rough.

Just remember that a 90% half is equivalent to 10-rosies, and a 40% is just a little over 2-rosies. Those of us Dime hunters rarely find 10-rosies, most likely only 1or2. Congrats on a lone 90.
