Had a late start hunting this year, didn't pick any boxes of coins up until this past weekend. I picked up a box of halves, a box of dimes, and a box of nickels.

But I suppose it was worth it to take the first week and some days of January off to recharge, because all the boxes gave up silver.

The box of nickels gave up two war nickels:

1944P
1944D

The box of halves gave up two 90%ers and six 40%ers:

1953D Ben
1964
1965 x 2
1966
1967
1968D
1969D

And, yes, I finally broke a 50+ dime box skunk streak that lasted almost all of 2019 with a box of that gave up three Roosies:

1957
1963D
1965

four.jpg

The lack in quality of the dime picture is because my younger son wanted to snap it from his phone, which was my old piece of crap, that I gave him to play around with. So I obliged him.

Anyway... what a good start to 2020!

Really glad to have dime boxes that produce again.

Just remember that a 90% half is equivalent to 10-rosies, and a 40% is just a little over 2-rosies. Those of us Dime hunters rarely find 10-rosies, most likely only 1or2. Congrats on a lone 90.

90% Ag coins
10 cents: 0.0723 oz
25 cents: 0.1808 oz
50 cents: 0.3617 oz
01 dollar: 0.7735 oz

The silver coins were the size they were based on the amount of silver in them. That's why the dime is so small and the dollar was so large. Therefore, you can calculate how much more silver is in a coin based on their face value. A half has roughly 5 times as much silver as a dime and a dollar coin has roughly 10 times as much silver.

We only wish a 90% half is equal to 10 rosies! :)

Lots of skunk boxes this week, both dimes and halves.

Didn't have any boxes to pick up yesterday, but managed to find $100 in CWR of halves at a small credit union that I haven't visited in a long time.

I call this small credit union to check for halves or Ikes once a week and they usually never have anything, but this time they did.

I pulled ten keepers out of the $100 in CWRs, one 90%er and nine 40%ers:

1964
1967 x 4
1968D x 2
1969D x 3
