Having seen Sleepy Holow and Immy update their threads for new finds (and skunks) as time goes on, I thought I would do the same. Seems to be easier than to start a new thread to report finds or skunks.

Yesterday, I got this solid roll of wheats when I bought $3 in cents from a bank (among dimes and nickels, which were a complete skunk). It was a nice roll that included a 1943D steel, and a AU/BU 1956. Other coins of note were a 1910,1918,1920 and 1925. Rest were common date wheats. I didn't realize until after I had opened the roll that it actually had wheat cents written on it (and crossed out).

At another bank got $5 in loose halves in addition to cents, nickels, and dimes. While the cents, nickels, and dimes were a skunk, the halves were a big winner: $4.50 of the $5 were silver: 1962, 1964, 1967 (x2), 1968D (x3), and 1969D (x2). The other was 1972 clad

Since Jan 2 through yesterday, found these coins:

Halves: 1964(x2), 1967
2 war nickels
4 buffalo nickels: 1936, 1937, 1928 (can barely make out the 2 and the 8), and a dateless that is well worn
16 silver dimes

YTD Searched:

$109.50 in cents - before the solid roll of wheat, was getting about 1 wheat per $2.60, which is low relative to what I have seen in the past. It definitely seems that someone (or multiple people) have been CRH cents around here.
$386 in nickels - these have been good this year
$2,415 in dimes - 0.66% silver hit rate
$140 in quarters - found nothing and didn't expect to.
$68 in halves, of which $38 were loose from tellers. Rolled halves have been few and far between this year so far. Also, went into a bank today near work and when I asked if they had any halves, the teller said that they go quick when they get them. Halves silver hit rate is 9.56% of the $68 searched.

Thank you for reading
Good luck to all and HH

Woo hoo, bring on more finds and stats to the CRH forum! Just as important as percentages and amounts searched are DATES, and I'm glad you're including them. Good luck on your searches and we look forward to more posts with more goodies. :icon_thumleft:

Found this dateless buffalo (very well worn) yesterday in $10 worth of CWR nickels. LIBERTY is nearly completely merged into the rim - it is disappointing when you find these that are this worn IMO.

Today, got this 1964D dime in $180 worth of CWR dimes that I got from 3 banks
Also searched $28 of CWR nickels and this was a complete skunk

And the teller tray hits again - and this time when I was dumping rolls of coins. They had $10 of loose halves and one was this 1967 40%

Sorry for the rotated picture

Loose halves from the teller hits again today:

One bank had $7 in halves (this time I actually saw them in the tray) and $4 were 40%
1965
1967 (4x)
1968D (2x)
1969D

Another bank had $1.50 in halves and those were clad

Searched $36 in nickels - skunked, but got this 1973S proof
Skunked in $185 in dimes

In pennies got $11 total. $3 of which were MWR. Those coughed up 15 wheats in $2 of the rolls, including this 1936 AU. Someone must have dumped a collection of wheats somewhere for this many to show up in $2 of MWR.

Picked up $70 in CWR and $10 in MWR halves the other day. The MWR was a skunk

The CWR was a collection dump
....of 1971-1981 clad. Had old wrappers also.
At least it wasn't another CRHers dump - I hate getting those.

Was down in Florida for several days in the West Palm Beach area, and tried some CRH at a number of banks (there are alot of banks there within a fairly short distance), and the skunks were out in force.
$14 in cents
$74 in nickels
$460 in dimes
$50 in CWR halves (clearly a dump from a box searcher)
$1.50 in loose halves

Found 1 common wheat and 3 Canadian dimes. Only thing of note was this British Farthing coin from 1919 with King George V (it was in a roll of nickels). Kind of neat and it is in nice condition.

Seems like there are alot of CRHers in that area.

Back home and did some CRHing today. At least the skunks didn't follow me back from Florida.

$225 in dimes: $85 MWR and $140 CWR,
$22 in halves ($20 CWR and $2 loose)

Found:
1945P war nickel
1964 (x2) dimes from MWR
1962D dime from CWR

I think that 1919 British coin will hold a special place in your coin collection having found it outside your home grounds and all...

Found good silver today while both dumping and in new rolls.

Dumped coin rolls at bank - I see the teller has some halves and I can see a 1968D (usually I can't see the coin tray), so I ask for the halves ($3 in total) - even though I was dumping a roll of halves.

$2 of the $3 were silver:
1968D (x2)
1952P Ben
1963P Ben

halves 2-24.jpg

Picked up $5 in cents $26 in nickels, $170 in dimes from a few banks (all CWR), and one bank had $8 in halves

The nickels coughed up this 1924 buffalo

Plucked 4 silver dimes from the CWR rolls
1946, 1949, 1962D, 1964

Been in a bit of a skunk streak over the last week and a half or so, but today ended that.

Again the teller tray hits in halves: Went in to get some dimes and nickels, and I saw silver halves in the tray. Asked for them - there were $4 in total and all were 1969D. They also had a CWR and I was thinking that this was going to be good - thinking it may have been from the same person who dropped off the 1969Ds, but it was a skunk. The $10 in nickels I got coughed up a 1942P war nickel and the dimes were a skunk. Dimes have been skunksville lately.

Been on somewhat of a skunk streak lately in dimes & pennies. While I have gotten about $120 or so of CWR halves, they have been skunks also. I have cut back on searching pennies this year in favor of nickels, and those have been somewhat consistent. Recently dimes has picked up (6 silvers in $380 searched over the last 2 days), and picked up a big coinstar find of silver quarters earlier today. Just goes to show how random this hobby can be: you can get skunked for a while and then start hitting again.

Picked up this 1912 V nickel on the 11th in a MWR. Unfortunately, the back is very well worn.

Vnickel obv 3-11.jpg Vnickel rev 3-11.jpg

On the 12th, picked up some more nickels and decided to also buy a $100 box.
The individual rolls coughed up a 1950P, and the box gave up a 1945P silver.

When I was in the supermarket, found this 1961P dime at the coinstar. Someone left it on the machine's countertop along with 8 Mexican Pesos, and 35 Canadian cents.

Yesterday, got $300 in dimes and found these 5 silvers as well as this Swiss 1/2 Franc. The nickels and halves ($84 between CWR and loose) were skunks. I count the Bermuda nickel as a skunk. The skunk streak in dimes finally ended.

Today, got $80 in dimes and got this 1942P Merc, and 2 Swiss 1/2 Francs. Also got this 1967 half from the teller tray as I was dumping coins. The $20 in nickels were a skunk

coins 3-14.jpg

The best find came earlier today when I went into the supermarket and got a coinstar bonanza. 16 silver quarters: 1942 (x4), 1943 (x3), 1944 (x7), and 1945 (x2) and 79 cents in clad. Never found anything like that in a coinstar before (I will also post separately on the Coinstar blog).

CJ: that's the most silver qtrs that I've ever recall seeing being found on this TN site. FANTASTIC & Lucky for you, right place at the right time. Congrats. Those 16 silver qtrs would equate at 2.5dimes each, or 40-Rosies.

After a few months, went into a bank today to get some coins (there are a few banks with lobbies open without appointments)

Got $120 in dimes and $24 in nickels and those were a skunk

Hit again on teller tray halves - they had $2.50 and one was this 1968-D

Picked up some more coins on Thursday. $22 in teller loose halves yielded this 1966 40% and this 2006-S impaired proof in rough shape

All other coins (dimes, nickels, etc) were a skunk
