Wow.. never seen anything like that in 20 years of CRHing. Simply stunned.. how was the rim? Did the rim show copper or was the coin one solid metal color? They didn't try to make it look real. Lol. Wonder why they tried to make this creation. The artist was terrible at drawing Kennedy. Odd since most counterfeits are made using die cast jobs that lift off of regular coins.

The rim does not show copper color. The rim is solid silver metal color like the obverse and reverse.

I want it. I collect counterfeits. I tried looking up LIBFRTY and google corrected the spelling. Guess I need to go to AliExpress.com there are so many counterfeit coins on that site. Just went there and found this 1800 Draped Bust dollar. Can't beat the price. Of course the word "COPY" is no where to be found.

I started collecting counterfeits when I bought hundreds of mercury dimes and saw four that just didn't look right.

One other thing that is out of sorts with with this 1912 Kenn, is that the edge reeding bumps are fatter than they are on a real 2012.
On the date of this Half, it has 8 reed bumps from the end of the first "2" to the end of the "0" that follows it. Too Fat.

On a genuine 2012 there are about Ten bumps of reeding in that same distance. May not sound like much but it will ad up over the whole 360 degrees of the coin.

We know that this one is a fake but you can try dropping it on a hard surface for a sound check.
Do yours and then drop a real coin that is made of the same stuff that the coin in question should be made of.
If they are made of different metals they should make different sounds.

Thanks for the post.

It sounds very similar to a standard clad Kennedy half. Most people probably wouldn't hear the difference. (I can usually tell a 1992 Kennedy from the sound . . . )

Several of the reeds don't cut all the way to the reverse side of the coin. Those ones go most of the way, but don't quite make it.
