Nice job spotting. Of all the silvers, the Merc is my favorite.

All my life I walked with my eyes down to find treasures. It worked, sometimes. Cents were the norm. But one time, in a near empty Bar/Restaurant, I found a $20 on the floor! I asked the server person if the folks that sat in this part of the bar were still in the restaurant. He said they might be at the table in the next room. I rolled over and asked if anyone (in this group of five) was missing anything. After the jokes like "Where are my Cadillac keys?" and "You found my diamond ring. Ha Ha". Then a guy said "Hey, where did my $20 bill go? I said "We have a winner!

New pics after cleaning coin with dish detergent. Still not sure of the date. Maybe someone can make it out from the magnified pic.

Looks like a 1926D to me but I'd be more comfy with the date adn mint mark If I had it in my hands to review.

I'd get a metal detector and work the area where you eyeballed it!

xr7ator, I was thinking the same thing about metal detecting the area. Problem is, it's the front yard of what looks like an apartment building. And it's neatly manicured, or at least well cared for. I'll look into getting permission. I'm not optimistic though.
