Last week I scored a Morgan dollar when I was dumping my halves. This week I pick up my boxes and the teller says I have three odd dollar coins if you want them. Best $3 I ever spent. Keep em coming. Thanks everyone. I can get used to this. Half dollar boxes have been pretty stinky so this kinda covers the smell. Lol

After reading about this happen hundreds of times (and 2 times for myself) the only question I still always have is...……..who......who?!.....walks into a bank......with these 3 heavy, obsolete, clearly dated "antiques"......slides them across the counter.....is happy with the 3 pieces of paper they receive......and then (and equally as remarkable) the teller slides them to you.....you slide him/her 3 dollars …….and now you are happier than both of them are...….and the only thing that gives me comfort is knowing that each time this happens that the coins have finally made their way into capable and caring hands. :icon_thumright:

Boggles my mind.:dontknow:

HH All!

Happened to me about 4-years ago, teller asked if I also save THESE, which turned out to be 5 (1-Morgan / 4-Peace $). Love stories like this. Another time a drive up teller asked me if I know anything about coins, said yes, he then turns over to me a 1988 ASE. I asked him how much you want for it, he says $1. I quickly ran out of there with the biggest grin on my face. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1599180184.038455.jpg

It does happen, not often, but it does.

Some teen that just "borrowed" them from grandpa's collection. The cigarette machine will not take coins that size.
