First the 'bad' news : only 2 (40%) silver coins

Now the rest of the story ...

1975 Panamanian Half Balboa (clad)

12 impaired clad proofs (2 of 1971S, 1972S, Bicentennial, 1977S, 1981S, 1984S, 1986S, 1991S, 1993S, 1994S, 2000S). All but two looked like this was their first time out of the govt. packaging.

40 +/- BU halves : a few dated post-2001, but mostly regular, for circulation, dates. Again, it looks like this was their first rodeo.

Special interest : 1987 and 1987D -- both BU (same story as above).

“Only 2” silver coins in a box is never “bad news”. For many of us, that’s above average.
Going 16 boxes in a row with nothing is bad news.

'bad' in quotes meant I was being facetious.
I have searched 23 boxes in 2020 : 16 were skunks, 5 had one 40% silver, one had 2 40% silver (last weeks' box), and one had 3 90% and 4 40% silver. That's 14 total silver. That's not good.

That’s how my last real year of hunting halves went - I was gonna retire from CRHing for good when the Mint announced the W quarters for 2019. I couldn’t resist searching for them - especially when they were selling for like $30+ each.
