Went to drop off a box at a bank that I have used ad a dump bank on and off for awhile. It's a little out of the way but sometimes I like to give my regular dump banks a break.
It was a teller I have never seen before.
After I exchanged 2 half boxes I ask if she has any half dollars.
She pulls out this old ratty box and says there is $300.00 in it.
She opened it and right away i see the shotgun roll that says FRANKLIN
trying my hardest to not break out into my happy dance i tell her i will take them all.
She says THANK YOU
TWO SOLID SHOTGUN ROLLS OF 90%
(40) Franklin's
(40) 1964 Kennedy's
Did my happy dance when i got to my car.
Trust me not a pretty sight seeing a 63 year old man do a happy dance in a bank parking lot.

I have a feeling you're the sort of guy who wins an abandoned storage unit in an auction and finds a sack full of gold coins and a Picasso....lol

Congratulations!

Someone turned in their dead relatives collection for face. You are very lucky. Make sure your family knows what they are worth. My kids know.

Oh my kids know what they are worth.
Sometimes I think they hover above me like a flock of voltures

I sorta understand when there are silver Kennedys in a teller tray.
But, when rolls are marked like this or Franklin's, WL etc... in a teller tray.
It just boggles the mind.
I guess because we are coin collectors we see these differently.
BUT, ITS BASICLY FREE MONEY
This is what keeps us going even through the dead periods and the skunk boxes

Wow I couldn't ask for halves after dropping off halves otherwise they could have just said " we have $1000 YOU just brought us. Here it is back." But fortune favors the bold. Nice when it comes together, even if its convoluted. Its been two years or so since I've even seen a shotgun roll. Mine only held like 3 90s 4 40s. I haven't seen one full in,... forever. Thats pretty stellar, HUGE CONGRATS!!!

Most of my dump banks also save other customers halves for me. They don't want them and are glad to have a regular customer who will take them.
I'm just as nice to the tellers from my dump banks as my pick up banks.
Dropping off boxes they just sell them to the vault and they get shipped out.
