I agree, I think a lot of people don't know what they have. Frankly, I also think that a lot of people just don't care or want to be bothered selling them for silver value - think about getting handed some loose silver halves from a teller (especially if they are Franklin or Walkers - not even the same design as the standard clad JFK) - I can't imagine that someone in that bank doesn't know that they are not common - they can just google it on the spot and find out.

I can't imagine that this was someone needing a quick $35 (instead of selling it to a dealer for $350-$400). In these parts, $35 doesn't get you very far - maybe 2 large pizzas.

[QUOTE=cyberdan;6618219]Go back today and try to get as many rolls as you can of 10, 25 & 50 centers
you never know what they brought in.
are there other banks very close? try there too.[/QUOTE

I asked for halves yesterday and they had $1 loose - clad
That was all the dimes they had on hand - so I figure I got whatever they had.
I didn't ask for quarters, and I wasn't able to go back today - but this is in a high volume area - so my guess is that if there were quarters, they are long gone (and probably so before I was there).

Ditto on the score. I too in all my years of collecting & CRH have never pulled a solid silver dime roll. I've found solid halves. Congrats on 6 rolls, well done. Right place at the right time. And yes, I believe that it's now turned to CWR's that you will find the silver.

Wow! What a haul my friend! I have to say, I've enjoyed reading your posts over the past year or two. Happy that these rolls went to a CRHer like yourself.

    Keep stacking...

    Thanks.

You were searching through as many dimes in a day as I do in a month. I remember you saying that you had moved, are you able to get back into CRH?

Hopefully starting a small operation in December. A lot of transition...moved in April, lived out of suitcases till we closed on a house at the end of June, had our second child last month, just about done with the initial house projects. Main hold up is work. My last assignment was a school assignment with favorable CRHing hours. Now I'm back to normal dayshift hours. We'll see what we can get going here...all I can tell you is that it won't be $6K per week!
