A 1975 quarter? I guess i don't get the punchline.

According to the books "Pieces with the dual dating (1776-1976) were coined during 1975 and 1976." So, in 1975 there were no coins with that date.

Same thing for the half.

So are you saying there are some error coins out there? I don't see how, as the die would have never been made in the first place. Error coins come from the dies having mistakes, but no 1975 die was ever made, as no coins at all were coined. Have you heard of any though being sold anywhere?
