To set the stage, I get a box of half dollars every week. Silvers in 2021 thru first 8 boxes : 1 solitary 40%er.

This week, I opened the box and I spotted a 1969D ender. I told my wife, "Good news, I don't have a skunk box this week."

So I opened the ender first and was pleasantly surprised to see another silver (40%) next to the ender. At that point, I had TRIPLED the YTD silver content.

But, as the Top 40 DJs used to say, the hits just kept on coming.

Bottom line :

6 90% silver (2 Franklin, 4 Kennedy)
40 40% silver (1 '65, 4 '66, 10 '67, 20 (an entire roll) '68D, 5 '69D)

See attached.

Amazing ! There really is a random factor in

Picked up a half $ box the other day. Found 5-40% and a Good 1939-D Walker. Haven't found a Walker in years. What a surprise find.

Exactly. We tend to think in terms of normal distributions - means, standard deviations, etc., but silver is not normally distributed. Would it be more or less fun if it was?

I still can't get boxes, but got 9 loose halves from the teller's till yesterday and 2 were 40%.
