Is this a 1926 or 1928?

I just compared the dates of the nickels I found earlier (prior post) in the red book and I noticed the 1926-S nickel is a semi-key date. Want to get your view as to whether this is a 6 or an 8.
Thanks for your help.

This is what I think is a 1926-S (the S on the back is clear)

And this one is a 1928 (I think)

You're correct. The first one is a 1926 and the second is a 1928. If you look at a less worn example, you'll see the the 6 has more or less a straight vertical line on the left side of the number, while an 8 is formed with two loops joined only in the center. Nice find!

I think the first one is an 8. Yes it is vertical on the left, but I think that is because it is flattened. The right top goes around too far to be a 6. I looked at some of my 6s and 8s and I see some 8s just like this one. I vote 8.

First one '26. The '6' looks like an '8' because of the headdress running into it.

Second one '28.
