Detector(s) used
I just follow my nose!...where the silver and gold goes!
Minelab 5000, Goldmaster, and a few others
XRF spectrometer, Common sense.
Primary Interest:
Prospecting
I think the mint sells them for like $15 or $17 One could always open them! lol
I have a couple I came across too. As with anything, its worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
$10 face but collectors pay a bit of a premium.

Although the mint did not release these coins to circulation, (they were not sent to the federal reserve to disburse), you can still get them directly from the mint.

Follow the below link the the US mint site and you will see where they are still selling the 2007 Kennedy Half-Dollar Two-Roll Set (5B8) for $32.95. If it does not work (new here) just go to www.usmint.gov and start from the home page.

You have a roll of coins that is worth at least $16.47.

Good find.

Don't open them if you want to get the most value for them (e.g., on eBay). The fact they were available at a bank is just a freak occurence - someone turned them in for face not knowing they were bought at (and still are worth) a bit of a premium.

Good luck.
