Was able to convince a bank I regularly buy halves from, though I don't (and they know) have an account with them, to buy me all the "large dollars" they could get from their "distributor". It was to be 700 Ikes and they came in on Friday.

Well, the seven hundred "Ikes" yielded:

5 90%ers - 21p & 21s Morgan and 22dx2 and 25p Peace dollar
8 40%ers - 71s silver (circulated), 72s silver (proof) x2, 73s silver (proof) x2, 74s silver (proof) x2 & 76s silver (circulated)
4 99.93%ers - 87 & 94x3 American Eagles

also a 76p off-center strike (5 - 10%), but still noticeably off center

All this..............and my Giants won tonight as well.

Yeah, I'm I'm a happy guy. 8)

Just when I thought I was done with bags of Ikes you have to post this. Great find. It took me $3800 to find one Peace dollar. I better call my "guy" and get another bag.

Yikes, there was a lot of silver in those Ikes. I'll see what my bank can come up with.

I couldn't find much interest in someone paying more than face for the 600+ (common) Ikes I had left from this bag. And I wasn't interested in sitting on that many more; above what I've already stockpiled. Besides, I've already profited enough from this bag.

Decided, instead, to parlay this a different way. I sold them (for face) to a repository for a chain of area banks in town. They had told me once that they never seem to have enough Ikes on hand for their customers (I'm not one, yet they have sold be a box of halves from time to time).

This will pay dividends down the road and will turn into a win/win.

Remember, nice begets nice.
