Just one chain of banks in Vegas has free coin counters - Nevada State Bank. I guess they've been overwhelmed because starting March 1st they're tacking on a 9% fee on dumped coins, even to account holders! What a bunch of crap. Time to plead my case to Well Fargo and BofA to put in free counters. You folks with plenty of free counter choices should consider yourself fortunate.

I do when I can but most are coinless now, and the ones that still accept coin don't take pennies & dimes. One of my favorite local casinos has gone coinless too. NSB was a convenient alternative since there was one literally next door to my regular Wells Fargo and down the street from BofA where I'd get boxes.

Another troubling trend is Vegas casinos frequently won't take outside coin. Looks like the squeeze is on.

Call around to the different Wells Fargos there. Here in the DFW area about 1/3 or so have coin counters. They are free to account holders. I opened an account just for the convenience to use them. If I ever quit CRH, then I will close the account.

At least you've had free coin counters in your area. They ain't here, or it's some bulldust story like you've related about dumping fees....

I have to re-roll everything, write my last name on the rolls, and then deposit. I always try to drop $2K so the bank can get rid of them on their next AC pick-up.

It's working so far.....
