CRH purshacing cash -$2,000

Glock $600

Traveling friend $Price of lunch

Knowing you are secure......Priceless.

LOL

I would say as long as you arent calling attention to yourself you are fine. Of course there are some areas I wouldnt be carrying stuff out of a bank unless I was strapped.

Happy and safe hunting!

Re: I've often wondered...

I keep a little bit of my half buying stash in every pocket and only a very small amount in my wallet. I figure if I do get robbed, maybe he will be happy with the hundred bucks in the wallet and cc cards.

No worries Mate,

I stick my friend Smith in my waistband every time I go in a bank.

NOT !

Best is to go about your business briskly and with set purpose.
Don't appear to be an easy opportunity.

Re: I've often wondered...

15 years ago I sold and delivered some livestock in a rural area 20 miles from a paved road. I was paid $25K in hundreds and 20's. I expected a check but didn't think much of it until I got to a gas station and realized I was a walking target. Come to think of it, that farmer could have had me ambushed out there and no one would have known any better.
Filled up the truck, bought a 12 pack of Budweiser and bag of pork rinds & drove another 300 miles without worrying about it, heck I got paid with a lot of cash money!
After that experience, a couple thou in the back pocket never phased me. Can't say as I ever recall a teller who was ever amazed or shocked at my large pile of bills either.

What kind of vehicle did you say you drive??

Just kidding. No worries here. As mentioned above, don't act like you have a lot of cash on you and when you do have to reveal it (say at a bank), then move quickly and confidently and don't dilly dally until you have moved on.

The easiest target is probably the one who is bank hopping and makes it quite obvious everytime they put several hundred dollars in coin in their vehicle, lock it back up, then walk to another bank.

Hey Immy, I was followed out of an Indian Casino in Chickasha,Oklahoma last week. Apparently the guy saw me cash in and I looked like an easy target. Mr.Cellphone sure came in handy. Whenever I leave my dump bank, I ask for an escort. Thanks, Jim

Re: I've often wondered...

I'm never worried when I walk in- its when I've got my hands full walking out (3 boxes of halves in ME limit carrying or 6 boxes in the cart). Using the cart I keep the other hand on ME shoulder holster as it makes a scene. HH all, Mark

Re: I've often wondered...

The most I have ever had on me for a CRH trip was around $5000.

And yes I was a tad self-conscious, but not overly so. Though I did put some here and some there just so it wasn't all in one place (just in case). But that trip was a weekday farm country trip almost no one in any bank I stopped at so very little risk.

Now last year when I was on my normal routes it was not unusual for me to have up to $2000 on me and I thought almost nothing of it.

Now having a $2000+ in bags of unsearched coins around the house made/makes my wife nervous though...:P

Although I usually only have that amount around for 1 night or at most 2.

Re: I've often wondered...

The thought of carrying a large amount of cash has crossed my mind many times but I just go on with business as usual.

I'm am like Mark.....my biggest concern is getting the halves to my car. Obviously I try to get the closet spot available to the entrance.....ha! This also applies for the dumps.

Re: I've often wondered...

400-700 on me at any given time, 1500-2500 when I go CRH'ing on trips or have a few boxes to pickup. Carry 3 or 4 boxes out to my car, and usually search them in the parking lot. Anyone who tries to steal from me would have to deal with an amateur boxer who has been fighting for over 2 years, who also happens to be a black belt in karate and was a middle/high school wrestler.

... Heck, after I stopped 'em, i might just take their wallet... y'know, insult to injury? lol

Besides, I doubt a BANK parking lot is a very likely place to get robbed, unless you are, in fact, the bank. :P

Re: I've often wondered...

Hey Im...

It don't bother me. I generally carry a grand or so ~ never know when you'll walk in a bank with a pile in the vault.

If I'm on a road trip, many times that amount.

But I do ALLUS have a pistol in my pocket if I have my britches on.....

Always walk with purpose and your head up - make eye contact with all, and behave in a confidant manner. Boy Scout Motto - "Be Prepared".

I go into some seriously economically depressed area banks. I get "eyeballed" by customers while counting out cash and walking with bags/boxes, but as Dundie said, "No worries" yet....

Mebbe I have a death wish?

Re: I've often wondered...

I don't pack heat but no worries here. First, I really doubt you would get robbed in the bank or parking lot. Like another poster, I scan as I drive in, walk tall and confident and go in. When coming out, same thing, scan but don't look obvious. I get in, hit the door lock and start the engine right up. Watch in my mirrors. Unless they have a gun, some one try's to jack me I'll mow them down. Also, at 6' 4" and 245 if someone does make a grab for me without a gun they will have a tiger by the tail. I look as I am leaving to see if I am being followed. I think being observant is the best defense.

Re: I've often wondered...

Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess carrying around lotsa cash makes me nervous cuz Vegas has more than its share of hardcore gamblers, junkies, etc. looking to roll someone flashing some green (even for a second). Heck, at the casino where I play (a pretty bad area just off the Strip) homeless/strung out people aren't uncommon. I get jealous stares when I'm cashing out $10 in pennies!

But I never expected fellow members would be packin'! Be careful out there guys and gals!

Duh... I'd uppercut them - chops don't have enough surface are. lol.
If they have a gun, unless i see a great opportunity, they can have my money - if it's in halves though, good luck to them (plus, they'd be disappointed when they got them all home and were 2001-d's). :P. Money is never worth your life...
