Re: Wide AM's

I'll on average find them probably every 2 boxes. More 98s than 2000s. Only found one 1999 in 9 years of searching.

I seen alot of chatter about the wide am's . while crhing i put aside all the 98,99 2000's . Had about 400, went thru them and zilch.....not a 1. How often does someone run across these?

I went thru 50- 70.00 worth of lincolns before finding both the 2000 & 98.! I actually had two 2000 AM's before I found the first 1998.. FWIW, I been hunting the 1999 for 3 yrs & have never found the first one.! The 1999 AM is by far the rarest while the 98 is next then the 2000.. However, the rarest of all is the 92 AM varieties.! and I have only found 1 1998 wide am.

Re: Wide AM's

Wow! Could you post some more pics of that '92 close am? They are extremely rare worth a good bit of money.
Check out this link for info on the coin: http://www.lincolncentresource.com/wideams.html The "Price Guide" section has prices for the AM coins listed, unfortunately not the '92 P. You might want to use that website as a guide to make sure that you have the close am.
If this really is a '92 P wide am...you are looking at probably a $2000 coin...so get it slabbed.

Nuts! I was taking more pictures and found that I had mixed up the dates. It is a 1998 close AM. Darn my old man eyes! But I was excited enough that I'm sure gonna keep lookin'......

Re: Wide AM's

I've been searching pennies for about a year now and have found 20 of the '98 wide am and only 8 of the '00 wide. None of the '99's, but its coming soon. I've also found a 2000 wide am that is fake. Someone cut the back of it and put a wide am in its place. I can see the seam of the coin and it makes a thud sound when dropped and it is also rotated 80 degrees.
