Ancient gold coin, help me identify it! Pics inside

Picking this up today. All I know about it is that it is real gold and is 8.2mm across. Very small, but I do not believe it is broken or a fragment.

I have two magnified pictures of it, posted below.

Anyone have any ideas?

I think it is a button made out of gold

I see no place where this would have broken.

And what button is made of solid gold?

Looks like some sort of Celtic gold stater.

Maybe Crusader or one of the other UK guys here at TNet can ID it for you.

I'm no expert--a novice at best, but it gives me the impression that the second(lower) picture is arabic/persian.

Hmm... well the coin is on its way to me as I speak. Regardless of what it is, it's my first gold!

Any idea of a value on something like this? Or what composition the gold might be?

I didn't pay much at all for it... I'm going to bring it to a coin dealer and make sure it's legit!

Received the coin in the mail finally. Boy is it small! Can't wait to find out what it really is!

Can a jeweler tell me if it's really gold?

I've yet to locate someone near me that I can take it to. None of the coin shops deal with anything this old.
