Walking Liberty Halves

Would $5.00 be to much to pay for walking liberty halves,Most of them is in the 40's.
Thanks on any advice that I receive.

According to the Red Book, that's the going rate for Walking Liberties in the 40s in Very Good condition. More if they're in better shape.

melt value is a little over 12 times face, so 10 times face is good.

with silver at $17 per oz (spot) --a 90% silver walker half has $6.15 of silver in it ( a bit over 12 x face value)-- so yah $5 (10 x face value) is a good deal , even at $14 a oz --it still has $5.06 of silver value in it. --so silver would have to go under $14 a oz to lose value below $5 on it . --of course buying is one thing --selling is another -- some places will give 90% of spot when selling but it can be tough to find em. -- of course condition is key when coin collecting * the coins if rare or in good shape could fetch more that way.

2010 red book list all the 1940 to 1945 walkers in G4 (rotten) shape at $7 and the 46's and 47's at $7.25
