There was a coin show this weekend and I got a 1773 1 reale for $7.50, a 1777 King George half penny for $7.50, an 1857 dime/love token with a hole for $5, a civil war token from the Union for $9 all from the same guy but at different times, and the guy liked me so he gave me a discount and he was impressed with my knowledge of coins at my young age.
And I traded an 1882 CC morgan for an 1881 S morgan graded by PCGS MS64
And I got a 2009 penny for helping with the show.

But 2009 pennies sell for more than 2008 pennys, and it was just a present for helping out from a nice lady.

What grade was the 1882 CC you traded? You may have gotten gipped. 1881 S is one of the most common dates. I got mine in MS 64 from NGC for like $40. CC mints are usually worth a nice sum.

It was a very very good Fine probably not quite Very Fine, the guy had $80 on the 1881 and I said "Would you trade this for that" and I was about to say and that over there (which was like a $10-$15 coin) but he said "Sure I'll trade even" before I could.
I had gone over there a few hours earlier because he heard I had a CC morgan and he offered me $80 lol and I said thanks but no but I thought about changing my mind all day.
But on the CC morgan I had only invested less than $50 (it was marked $90) because I traded coins for it,
plus the 1881 S was a beautiful white with no toning except a tiny golden brown spot on the edge.

Agreed, they are only going up in value. I've never seen one sell for under a hundred bucks unless it was only in "good" condition or worse.

PS- sounds like the "brown spot is from moisture. The "slab" is probably not airtight anymore (guy might have dropped it or something) and it could get worse. You might want to get it reslabbed.

Just so you know that 1881 S in MS 64 is only worth $53. That guy over priced it big time.

Sounds like you made out like a bandit. If possible, keep this dealer in mind if you feel he is honest. To have a good, trusted source for buying and selling is invaluable. Once again, congrats on your acquisitions!
