Hey all, I've been lurking here for God knows how long, but I rarely post. I was getting into my car last night and I found this 1943 P war nickel right in the curb. I couldn't believe my luck as this is my first war nickel ever. Its fairly worn, but beggar's can't be choosers. I go home and look it up in my Red Book to find that there is a variety that where the "3" in 1943 stamped over a 2 that was originally there. Now the "3" on my nickel looks a bit funny, but I'm no expert, so I'm sending my question to you all. Here's what it looks like...

The 3 is damaged, that is all I see, but do an image search of the 3 over 2. You should be able to find a good photo to compare to.

Yep...3 is just damaged. If it was 3/2 it would be easy to ID.

the tail of the 2 sticking out of the
bottom of the 3.
