Same as the last Bunch, They will send them to the Banks.
The banks arn't going to force them on the Public,
& at the end of the year before the next 4 come out,
the Banks will ship them back to the Mint
to be Stockpiled

Guess I'm still fighting it. I try to use cash whenever possible.

Plus it fun to watch the young cashiers trying to count out my change. :( Not really.

and THIS was why it didn't work in Canada..

What ?? Canada has had $1 and $2 dollar coins for a long time now, and they work just fine.

Britain has had a 2 pound coin (aprox.US$3.50) for over a decade and the Euro comes in a 2 Euro (aprox. US$3) denomination.

As a metal detector user I encourage higher value coins. HeeHee

2010 Presidential Dollar Coin Images Released

http://news.coinupdate.com/presidential-dollar-coin-images-released-0131/

I agree. These coins are absolute junk. The date is stamped on the EDGE of the coin. It wears off pretty quickly. I've got a 2008 that you can't even read the date on and I've never carried it in my pocket. It came straight out of a parking machine as change for a $5 bill. It looks like a stinking Chuck-E-Cheese token. Absolutely pitiful.

But I agree that I'd love to see the dollar bill go away in favor of $1 and $2 coins. It would probably tripple our clad counts each year. :icon_thumleft:
