Colonial Finds to add to my Display

Picked up these four colonial coins for just under $80.00 I don't know alot about them but thought they would go nice with some revolutinary musketballs and flints I found. I really had little interest in colonial coins until I found a 1783 nova constellatio coin about a mile from my house. The Virginia coin I havn't seen to many of. I thought it was made of copper but it almost has a nickel like appearence wear it is worn. I probably paid to much but I think all are original and dates can be read. Looking for a cheap fugio....... and a Mass. and New Jersey

Seems like at min. a break even deal. Do you know the variety of the CT?

I'd say you did OK if the Virginia is genuine, my concern would be if there is gray metal showing through it could be a copper coated replica.

That doesn't sound very good, but could be ok in another way. If the coins were purchased from the same person, and the VA is a fake, but the CT is authentic, maybe the crook wasn't smart enough to ID it. A legit - knowledgeable seller wouldn't sell a reproduction coin marked as the real thing.

...or maybe it's just a tarnished VA Shilling. ;D
