ive got this stupid minelab safari. im dreading i bought it.. yes they are good in the lab but most of tons of BS problems making random noise etc.. im tired of digging .. i live in CT and digging up big rocks hard dirt breaks your damm back.. im looking for old coins in old revolutionary war territory.. any suggestions..

Two things come to mind. Run the Noise program. If you don't, get a quiet channel, change it manually. Both are in the manual. Second. Turn down the sensitivity, until you get the desired function. Running too hot causes false readings.

P.S.

Check/tighten the connection in the box and clean coil and coil cover after each outing.
