Good Looks on the Info...Its sad ..but i have noticed Tons of fake coins on eBay...at this point if i dont dig it..im skeptical :thumbsup:

DnD, aren't the fakes usually stamped with "copy"?

they wouldn't be 'fake', if they had 'copy' on them :D

Another great site is www.china-mint.info. Another list of bad ebay sellers.

Counterfeit coins are rampant on Ebay. If a deal seems to good to be true it is. If you have access to a coin you find questionable check weight, size and thickness. Many new counterfeit coins are made thicker so they weigh correctly. Some fake coins are virtually unrecognizable as fakes. Here is a great example. The coin is beautiful and looks real. But it is unfortunately a fake.

if that's the case I haven't seen too many "fake" US coins on Ebay. I'm not thinking that the poster in Florida is digging many Roman coins, LOL! ffd

If you do a google search for "Civil War fakes " the first entry is for the civil war dealers site with a list of links to civil war fake relics. siegfried schlagrule
