CAN SOMEONE IDENTIFY THESE STERLING COINS FOR ME!

a friend of mine has about 12 of these. they are marked sterling on the edges of the coins.do you know who made them. how many in a set or a web site. any info would be great. he searched on the internet with no luck.thanks for the help.

I would think they are listed in a commemerative coin listing somewhere. I will keep searching. jgas

These are bullion silver, not true coins, but were stamped and often sold as "coins". Not currency, but the silver value certainly has appreciated over the past few years. When they were made, almost any subject was "commemorated" in an effort to sell more. The silver could have been sold in disks or bars more easily, but the images on these sold more than had they been plain. Most coin dealers buy them for the silver value and toss them in a bucket until they get enough to ship to a melter. They will sell as many as you want at a bit of a premium over silver spot value.
