I found this coin in a jewelery box I inherited. It is possible it is from Korea since I had two relative stationed there in the Navy and Military, but I cannot find anything like it. It Has Asian writing with "1" on one side and wheat with what looks like rays on the other. Sorry for such poor photos

Here you go:
The name "agora" was taken from 1 Sam. 2:36.

The coin ceased to be recognized as legal tender on February 22, 1980. A better pic will determine the date.

Design:
The obverse design was based on the a coin of Agrippa I (37 - 44 C.E.) and features three ears of barley as well as the word “Israel” in both Hebrew and Arabic.

The reverse design features the denomination ""1 Agora" and the date in Hebrew.
There were two types:
Type 1 - Coins were made of Aluminum composition (Al: 97% Mag. 3%) (1960-1980 issues)
Type 2 - One year type (nickel) coin to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Bank of Israel (1980 issues)

Years Minted: 1960-1980
Diameter: 20 mm
Weight: 1.0 grams
Total Mintage: 303,769,512 (circulation)
Edge: Scalloped

Good ID Cutler
