I need help grading these four coins. The first one is an 1893 Colombian Exposition half dollar, then there's a 1943 D dime and two 1942 D nickels. I've got 4 other 1942 D nickels and one 1942 no mintmark, but they aren't in as good condition. My guesses for grading would be around VF-20 based on the guide in the Red Book for the dime and the nickels, and around the same for the Colombian half, maybe a bit better.

all US coins would grade as 'good' based on circulation condition...
The war nickel, regardless of grade, has a melt value around $2.25 or so...

The first two coins would grade a little better than good. With that said, all three will sell for their melt value, which is around 28X face for the 90% ( first two) and $2.25 or so for the nickel. Not too shabby these days!

The good news is that all Mid-1942 thru 1945 War Nickels contain 35% silver...all other nickels, regardless of date do not...

Sean is 100% right! I didn't even look at the date after reading the posts 
'42 w/ no mintmark or Denver mint, are indeed standard nickel composition. The rest of the dates through '45 are 35% silver. Hope this helps a little.

The U.S. Mint issued two compositions of the nickel in 1942. The copper-nickel composition used today and the 35% silver composition.
On the silver nickles the mint mark will be above the dome. On the clad nickles they will be on the bottom right of the building or there will be no mint mark at all.

All the silver war nickels have an enlarged mint mark above montechello on the back..sorry its not a silver...keep trying
