US Mint to release 2006 "Reverse Proof" Gold and Silver Eagles

The mint is releasing a bunch of coins for collectors (to make the mint lots of money). First they have the San Francisco Mint Commeritave coins in Silver and Gold.

You can also order "The 2006 United States Mint American Legacy Collection" set with the previously "Sold Out" Franklin Founding Father 1 oz Silver coin.

Now they are releasing the Gold and Silver Eagles in Proof, Reverse Proof and "uncirculated" American Eagle 20th Anniversary Coin Sets. Note the "uncirculated" coins are different from the Bullion Gold and Silver coins, which by their very nature are uncriculated. The mint gives them a W mint mark, and says:
"These coins feature the same finish as their bullion counterparts, but unlike the American Eagle Bullion Coins, the American Eagle Uncirculated Coins bear the mint mark of the facility that produces them and follow a different path through the manufacturing process. Specifically, the planchets used for American Eagle Uncirculated Coins are burnished, while those used for American Eagle Bullion Coins are not."

Rightttt, they are the same, just different....

These "American Eagle 20th Anniversary Coin Sets" are very premium priced, and make available even more coins that were previously "Sold Out", IE, the 1 oz Gold Proof Eagle.

The thing that bothers me, (besides the fact that they are releasing way more variations of coins than I have money to waste "invest"), is the fact the mint is producing more new coins of types that were previously listed as sold out" at a specific mintage. Kind of like being able to buy the "rare" 2001 Kennedy Half rolls now in 2006. I guess the US Mint mintage figures are about as worthless as their clad coins, lol. Seems like the mint is now using the same business model as the Beanie Baby company, release as much product as possible, in as many variations as possible, and hope suckers collectors buy it.
