I just saw another post about that. I believe it is used in England. they would take a coin and a rock, make a wish and pound the coin into the tree. kinda like a wishing well with no water and a lot more labor. LOL

Never heard of a wishing tree, but just the other day, I was thinking about detecting some trees also. Some trees make good hiding places for small amounts of coins, or other ill gotten items. I remember as a kid, hidding things in trees.

Has anyone here found anything in a tree, in a rotten knot hole, or hollowed out tree?
