Hey i have a few pounds in weight of foreign coins gathered in my travels over the years. Can someone advise
me how to tell if they're silver or worth anything. I dont think i have anything old but i dont know the metal
makeup of coins...i have some from russie italy england, australia, chile, canada of course, a few other countries.
is it even worth hanging on to such things? Thanks for any responses. Jim

There were a lot of foreign silver coins. Don't get rid of anything until you get a book on foreign coins and look em up.

Welcome to Treasure Net !!

Suggestion: Go to your local library and find "Standard Catalog of World Coins 1901-2000"; Krause Publications.
Look your coins up in that catalogue; I believe it will note if a coin is silver or not; perhaps even its weight in silver.
