The coin is either a half penny or penny. Many of them were counterfeited. In your condition, they are not worth much.

I have to agree it's a halfpenny and worth very little. just an interesting find. Hutch.

Can't see this being a halfpenny as you can see a straight double line under Britannia rather than the curved base. The head is also to close to the top edge. The farthing did have the straight line but only for the 1806 and 1807 dates. The penny coin was fairly huge so thats out.

Condition wise whatever it is its worth nothing as collectors want little damage or wear but it shows your detecting in the right area and silver can come up almost as new.

I'll have a check through and see if I've anything similar and post a picture.
