Recieved these offers in the mail today. What do you think, would they be worth ordering? Nickel set $3.95 per set, WW II 70th anniversary coin Free with $2.95 shipping cost, and 1986 proof set $9.95.

Total waste of money IMO sorry

the nickles are worth 5 cents each
will always be worth 5 cents each

The half dollar is worth 50 Cents at the store & 50 cents to dealers
& Will always be worth 50 cents no more

The proof sets sold for $7.00 I think
to certain collectors may eventually be worth more.
Maybe 100 years from now.

No idea on the clad statue of liberty half.
May be called Legal tender if made by the mint
But may not be considered real money
by the banks

The proof set is an OK deal, if you dont have to pay additional shipping & handling charges (which I'm sure that you would have to). If nothing else it would be a kind of cheap & easy way to get a kid into coin collecting.

a good thing to consider IMO If it is advertised, by Mail, in Magazines, on TV or even the Net,
they are paying someone good money for the ads, & Postage in the case of mail.
so you can be pretty sure they are going to want to break even & Start making profit
quickly. so odds are if they have 10,000 coins, they expect to break even selling a hundred or so tops.

to do this they exaggerate the worth, and the cost of shipping & Handling.

Ever notice when they sell the latest greatest Device on tv,
they offer a second one free
(Just pay separate Shipping & Handling )
well that's usually ($9.95 S&H for a 5 cent item )

same goes for collector coins.

Real collector coins are bought & Sold by Millionaires

like this Bidder pays $1.84 million for 1873 dime
