I agree, the attributes are extremely wrong for that coin. Check it with a magnet, if it sticks it is bad, if it doesn't then you may be in the possession of a multi-thousand dollar coin.

I'd say fake all the way.

Your coin doesn't look right -at all- and doesn't even look to be made out of silver. The rim is way too thick and its the wrong weight. It also looks to have a smooth, rather than a reeded edge.

the reverse looks Cast to my eyes especially inside the wings.

But I guess pictures can be misleading :dontknow:

I bought one once that was too good to be true. And it was. It looked very very good, but it was a copper planchet with a plating of silver. When I looked more closely I could see the plating had worn off on some if the higher relief.

I felt stupid but at least it was only $80 stupid and not $500 stupid.

Yea ? My guess Someone planted them there for you to find,
or it was a shipment of counterfeits that sank
