Braided Hair Large Cent on Half Cent Planchet???

Hi first post here, I have a few coins I need help IDing, if anyone can help id be grateful. The first is this 1852 large cent that's missing its edge. Patina on edge matches face, round but slightly irregular wear marks on edge. Weighs about 7 g.


The closest match I could find are these error coins, large cents on half cent planchets, first is from Chase Manhattan Money Museum 1852 weight 5.131 g. Second is from Heritage auctions 1851 or 52 (missing) weight 4.69 g. only 2 or 3 known




I know its wishfull thinking since my coin weighs 1.5 g. more than it should for one of these, any ideas? Thanks

It is too heavy for a half cent, it is just damaged, cut or ground down for some reason.

Can you post some pics of the edge of the coin?

Maybe the copper was used for bullets, or new coins. Anyone seen this before?

Given the uneven edge of the coin, I doubt it is a mint error (I could be wrong, it would hardly be the first time). It looks to me as if it were ground down... You can show it to an expert and see what they have to say...
