Hello,
I recently purchased a 1953 Un Balboa. When I flipped it from obverse to reverse, I noticed that the images were approximately 15% off proper orientation. I referenced published information. The weight, 26.7 grams, is correct. The diameter, 38.1 mm, is correct. The thickness, .106 inches, is a little thicker then some of the other Un Balboas that I have; I contribute this to the near mint condition of the coin. (I measured the rim at the 12 o'clock position on the obverse) It is not magnetic. The reeding on the edge looks proper.
Currently, there is a nearly identical coin up for auction on ebay. It also shows a similar mis-alignment. Here is the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Silver-Balb..._World_Coins&hash=item2a2b76cd86#ht_870wt_912
Can you help with determining whether my coin is real or a fake?
Can anyone confirm that the orientation is common for the 1953 Un Balboa?
Thanks so much for your time,

Most likely real. The mis-alignment is normal. Try a sound test.
