1907 Barber dime with reverse 'line'?

I recently found this dime and it has an 'error/ or addition' on the reverse. HPIM1845.JPG HPIM1846.JPG HPIM1847.JPG HPIM1849.JPG HPIM1848.JPG HPIM1850.JPG I do notice a slight discoloration on either side of the 'line' (which appears doubled over). Under 10x magnification there does appear to be a "greenish" residue along this line- not a lot but it's there. Would this be an indication of tampering/ altering, to what end?

It looks like it was once made into a pin, it was soldered on and what you see is the remains of that.

Thanks l..cutler- I believe you're right. I didn't even think of someone making a coin into a pin. It was my first silver coin and to me is unique. Thanks HH yelnif
